Lindsay M. Fainé is a partner in the Tax Strategies and Benefits Group at the international law firm of Squire Patton Boggs. She has lived in Abu Dhabi for the last 5 years, relocating from the firm’s NY office. Lindsay has extensive experience advising institutional investors on the taxation of private equity and hedge funds, corporate taxation and cross-border investment into the United States. She specializes in structuring and reviewing proposed and existing fund and portfolio company structures and advises upon strategies to improve the tax efficiency of investment returns, including utilizing income tax treaties and mitigating non-resident withholding tax on repatriation. Lindsay works extensively with non-U.S. sovereign wealth and pension funds in U.S. tax planning and has advised FATCA partner countries regarding intergovernmental agreements. She is frequently a guest speaker on U.S. taxation. Lindsay received her LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law, her Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School and her BA from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. She lives in Abu Dhabi with her husband and two daughters, ages 6 and almost 3. She enjoys travel, Pilates and playing in the sand with her girls.
