Paul O’Brien is Deputy Chief Investment Officer in the Strategy and Planning Department at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). He joined ADIA in 2009 as Head of Fixed Income Strategy. The Strategy and Planning Department advises ADIA on asset allocation issues and provides research and broad strategic direction. Paul manages a team of investment and quantitative specialists across all asset classes. Prior to coming to Abu Dhabi Paul worked with Morgan Stanley Investment Management (Philadelphia and London), JP Morgan (Paris and London), and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Washington). Paul attended the U.S. Naval Academy and earned a B.S. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota. Paul is a U.S. citizen; he and his wife Kristine maintain a home in Jackson, Wyoming. They have two children. Paul has served on the AmCham Finance Committee since 2011.
