Rula Dajani was appointed as AMIDEAST’s U.A.E. Country Director in May 2015 and has been serving as the senior representative interacting with decision and policy makers. Her work has crossed the spectrum of industry sectors – education, public health, philanthropy, social development, arts and humanities. An accomplished multi-lingual professional experienced in fostering positive relationships with senior government officials, partners, and donors; and proven track record in strategic planning and implementation of programs that contribute to economic well-being of communities. Prior to this position, Rula has served in Jordan, Palestine, Egypt and U.S.A. managing several health and education programs for USAID and EU; designed and implemented fundraising strategies for key governmental organizations; managed media affairs during the Oslo Peace Process; designed social and behavior change communications strategies for key socio-economic sectors. An entrepreneurial drive in evaluating partnerships and opportunities, negotiating strategic agreements and launching cross functional/regional teams to realize projects with strong attention to details. Strategic alliances and partnerships with public and private sector organizations are key for the success of social development programs when coupled with providing technical support for policy creation and advocacy. She received her MPA from George Mason University in 1993, and her BA in English Literature and French from Birzeit University in 1987.
