AmCham Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council, proudly co-hosted an exclusive reception on Monday, April 14, to commemorate the opening of the second annual Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (ADGHW). The event took place at the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island, a corporate member of AmCham Abu Dhabi.

Distinguished keynote remarks were delivered by our invited speakers H.E. Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, and U.S. Ambassador to the U.A.E. Martina Strong, highlighting the critical importance of U.S.-U.A.E. collaboration in shaping the future of healthcare.

Ambassador Strong emphasized the enduring U.S.-U.A.E. healthcare partnership, tracing its roots to the founding of Oasis Hospital, established in 1960 by an American couple, Dr. Pat and his wife Marian Kennedy. This hospital is the birthplace of many royal family members, including H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the U.A.E.

H.E. Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi highlighted the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi’s strong ties with U.S. institutions and mentioned upcoming healthcare advancements in various sectors and areas.

Ayman Mokhtar, speaking on behalf of AmCham Abu Dhabi’s Healthcare Committee, praised the U.A.E.’s visionary leadership in healthcare.

Welcoming 250+ attendees, including influential leaders from across the healthcare sector, this high-level reception brought together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to celebrate and reaffirm Abu Dhabi’s global leadership in health innovation and advancement.

The evening also marked a special milestone for AmCham Abu Dhabi with the formal introduction of its new Executive Director, Sonali A. Maheshwary.
