Candidate’s Statement

As an energy expert within Mubadala and a member of the AmCham Board for many years, I will participate in strategic development and governance through:

  1. Bridging UAE and US business partnerships in a broader than Energy specific investments.
  2. Conduct live discussions to analyze national and global opportunities and inviting the key stakeholders.
  3. Foster members’ interrelations by focusing on the events and initiatives.

I will deal with these by utilizing my network, teaming up with others and facilitating real-time, interactive discussions. The five-year experience on boards makes me competent to handle the challenges and translating them into opportunities.

Candidate’s Bio

Jasem joined Mubadala in June 2008 and was part of the CFA program where he passed level 1. In 2009, Jasem joined Mubadala Energy Strategy and Corporate Development team and was responsible to deliver Mubadala Energy strategy, provide optimization plans to upgrade the portfolio, maintain robust commercial, economic and financial framework and benchmark Mubadala Energy to global IOC’s to ensure best in-class practices.

In 2014, Jasem was appointed as an asset manager for one of Mubadala Energy’s assets where he was responsible for the technical, operational and financial performance. In 2016, he was appointed as an asset manager for Mubadala Energy at the Mubadala UAE Investments platform (previously called Energy Platform) where he was responsible for Mubadala Energy overall performance.

Currently, in addition to the asset management role of Mubadala Energy which has recently announced 500 thousands boe/d working interest production rate, Jasem is part of the Masdar asset management team within the Mubadala UAE Investment supporting the recent Masdar transaction and alignment with other Abu Dhabi energy companies.

Prior to Mubadala, Jasem studied his Bachelor at Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR) and graduated with Distinction Honour in Electrical Engineering. In addition, enrolled into several executive education programs such as INSEAD, NYU Abu Dhabi Geopolitics Executive Education Program and have an ESG Fundamental certificate from Fitch-Learning.
