Candidate’s Bio
Eric Hamilton serves as Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff at NYU Abu Dhabi, where he serves as the principal aide and advisor to the Vice Chancellor, provides strategic leadership on major university priorities, collaborates with key stakeholders in both New York and Abu Dhabi, and oversees key departments across the institution. He previously served as Vice Provost for Research Policies and Governance and has held a number of other institution-building roles at the university.
Eric has worked at NYU Abu Dhabi since 2016 where he is also a Senior Lecturer of Political Science. His research and teaching focus on international relations theory, international security, U.S. foreign and national security policy, and Middle East politics and security. Eric previously worked at the Institute for the Study of War in Washington, DC. He holds a PhD in Politics and International Relations from the University of Southern California and an MA in Security Studies from Georgetown University.
As a Member at Large of AmCham Abu Dhabi, Eric brings experience at the intersection of higher education, research, policy, and U.S.-U.A.E. strategic engagement.
