Candidate’s Statement

I am committed to volunteer my time, experience and connections to enhance the impact, productivity and effectiveness of AmCham Abu Dhabi by developing the following key areas:

  1. Developing a comprehensive medium and long-term strategy for AmCham Abu Dhabi, focusing on our key priorities while leveraging strategic partners like the US Embassy and UAE government to achieve our goals.
  2. Strengthening engagement with our Emirati counterparts to foster better bilateral relationships and drive mutual growth and prosperity.
  3. Creating a robust business continuity plan to ensure seamless operations that prioritize the wellbeing and security of our AmCham Abu Dhabi team while providing uninterrupted services to our members.

Candidate’s Bio

Lina Lampkin is an education expert with over 20 years of experience in designing and implementing strategies, policies, programs, and budgets within the education sector.

She has worked for the US government, managing the Department of State grant for education advising at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and then moved on to leading and managing education programs in Abu Dhabi at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council which led to issuing laws such as the private schools regulations for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Lina has worked at both local and federal levels of education entities in the UAE, supporting their agendas and strategic objectives. She led divisions in the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge and was among the leadership team of an education project at the Salama Bint Hamdan Foundation. Currently, she supports leadership at the Ministry of Education in an advisory capacity.

Lina is an Atlantic Council WIN fellow and an Associate Member of the International Education Consultants Association. She is a US Government Franklin Award recipient for outstanding work in setting up the regional virtual advising center and training the advisers in the region in 2005 and was NAFSA’s regional representative for the MENA region for two consecutive terms.

She has served on the board of AmCham Abu Dhabi for a total of 7 years leading the membership committee and creating the Women in Business Committee (now the Business Leadership Alliance). For two years now she’s been chairing the Arts, Culture, and Education Committee at AmCham Abu Dhabi (until recently), the Membership Committee as well co-chairs the HR Committee. 

In addition to her Bachelor’s degree from the American University of Beirut she has completed executive leadership programs from INSEAD, Fontainebleau and Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. 

Lina is married to Vandy Lampkin, a retired Air Force officer and they are the proud parents of Christian Lampkin who is pursuing his PhD in the U.S., and Rayyan and Kayden Lampkin, who are studying at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi.
