Khaldoun Hajaj has lead Government Affairs and previously Public Affairs & Sustainability for Africa and Middle East at Standard Chartered since 2017. Prior to this appointment he served as Chief of Staff and Board Secretary at Safanad Global Investments. From 2011 to 2015 Khaldoun headed up Government Affairs for the Africa, Middle East and Turkey regions at the Dow Chemical Company. He has 15 years of Australian public policy and advocacy experience. This includes five years as an Advisor in the Parliament of Australia, seven years as a financial services, sustainability and consumer protection researcher at one of Australia’s leading Law Schools. He was also a leading lobbyist in the $3Trillion+ Australian pension fund system where he was part of numerous climate change reporting initiatives. Khaldoun has degrees in Law and Political Economy from the University of Sydney and UNSW.
