Nancy W. Gleason, PhD is Professor of Political Science at New York University Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. She is also Executive Director of the Hilary Ballon Center for Teaching and Learning. Her research focuses on the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s impact on higher education, and the future of work, with an emphasis on generative AI.  She considers societal impacts of education, employment disruption, continuous reskilling, and the role of industry in supporting upskilling of adults. She is the editor of Higher Education in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Springer, 2018). She is the co-editor, Diversity and Inclusion in Global Higher Education: Lessons from Across Asia(Palgrave March 2020). Her forthcoming edited volume, with NYUAD student contributors, is titled Humans PLUS Technology: Global Youth Insights on the Future of Work (January 2025). 

Dr. Gleason holds a PhD from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University; MSc from London School of Economics; and a BA from George Washington University.
