Renu Sharma is responsible for the International Products joint ventures and downstream businesses in the Middle East. She has 28 years of experience in a variety of roles of increasing responsibilities in Chevron. She is the lead director on the Chevron Middle East Joint Ventures Boards.
Renu joined Texaco in 1996 in Chevron’s Fuel and Marine business and was responsible for all aspects of Chevron’s Fuel Oil business in the Middle East including cargo trading, price risk management and storage agreements. Over the course of her career, she steadily progressed through a series of roles ranging from Marine Fuels, Trading, and managing the US defense fuel and storage requirements globally outside the US. Between 2011 and 2017, Renu was based in Singapore, Chevron’s headquarters for the Downstream & Chemicals business operations in Asia Pacific. While in Singapore, Renu held the roles of Advisor to the President of International Products and Manager of Strategy, Special Projects, and Joint Ventures Board support for the Asia Pacific region.
In her 28-year career with Chevron, Renu has led and participated in several projects of complex nature in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions, including the listing of Chevron’s non-operated joint venture refinery in Thailand, Star Petroleum Refining Public Company Limited.
Renu graduated from the University of Mumbai with a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) in 1988. In 2005, she completed her executive education program specializing in Strategic Management from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
In 2019, Renu made it to the Chevron history makers wall as the first woman country chair in the Middle East. Hard hats and ceiling smashers: women break new ground in energy – Chevron
And in 2022 and 2023, Renu was honoured as one of Middle East’s most inspirational women in leadership.
Renu balances her work life by practicing yoga, meditation, and gardening. With the help of her family, she enjoys the challenges of family life with two adult children and dogs.
