AmCham Abu Dhabi Nominations for 2026 – 2028 Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of AmCham Abu Dhabi is pleased to announce that the Nominations period for the election of The 2026-2028 Board of Directors is now open. The AmCham Abu Dhabi Board of Directors serve as the governance body for the AmCham Abu Dhabi community, building strategic plans that best serve the Organization’s mission, values, and members.
AmCham Abu Dhabi Annual General Meeting of Members (AGM) will be held on June 11th, 2026. At the AGM the results of the election of the 2026 – 2028 Board of Directors will be announced. We hope that you will be able to attend this important meeting.
Pursuant to the AmCham Abu Dhabi ByLaws, nominations of candidates for election to the 2026 – 2028 Board of Directors will close at midnight, Thursday, April 30, 2026. AmCham Abu Dhabi relies upon its membership to nominate qualified individuals to sit on its Board of Directors and requests your assistance. This email contains important information about the nomination and election process.

2. Eligibility for Board Service
As provided in the By-Laws, any General Member in good standing is eligible to serve as a Member-at-large, Board Secretary, or Board Treasurer. Any U.S. Citizen who is a General Member in good standing may serve as the Board Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson. General and Affiliate Members may nominate any General Member to serve as a Member-at-large. Any two (2) qualified General Members may nominate for any Board Officer position one (1) or more eligible and consenting candidates for consideration by the Nominating Committee. All nominations shall be in writing and must be received by the Nominating Committee no later than April 30, 2026, at which time nominations shall be closed. No candidate shall be nominated by the same two (2) Members for more than one (1) Board Officer position.
3. Nominations
The Nominating Committee shall consider all nominations and any other qualified and consenting candidates. After such consideration, the Nominating Committee shall nominate at least one (1) qualified and consenting candidate for each Board Officer position and other nominees to fill the Members-at-large positions.
4. Board Composition
The Board shall consist of at least nine (9) and not more than fifteen (15) voting Directors. At each election, eleven (11) Directors shall be elected by General Members (the “Elected Directors”) and four (4) Directors shall be selected by the Elected Directors (the “Selected Directors”).
5. Multiple Positions
Candidates who stand for a Board Officer position may also elect to stand for and win a Member-at-Large position, should their candidacy for Board Officer be unsuccessful.
6. Eligibility to Vote
General Members whose dues are paid in full shall be eligible to vote on all matters brought before the membership.
7. Eligibility of Affiliate Members
Affiliate Members are not eligible to serve on or vote for the AmCham Board of Directors.
