As Financial Controller at Abu Dhabi Police, Yassin supports the Department in financial and cost accounting, financial systems, external and internal auditing, people leadership, and training & development. He had served in multiple roles in finance and project management at the American Express Company, and has considerable experience in finance project management. Yassin serves as the Treasurer of AmCham, managing the P&L of a key business group in Abu Dhabi.

Yassin is an entrepreneur, his first role in this arena was as a young olive harvester in a family business in Lebanon. He also owns a real business in Florida. Yassin is a Florida-licensed CPA, and is an FCCA and UAECA, a chartered certified accountant in the UK and the UAE. He had earned college degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering.

Yassin is fluent in Arabic and English, and is intermediately proficient in Spanish. He is an avid history and literature reader, and an observer of current affairs, enjoys kayaking, fishing, indoor cycling, paddle tennis, racquetball, gardening, and music & the arts. Yassin is the proud father of three daughters. He is a Palestinian American living and working in Abu Dhabi, and maintains summer residence in Miami, Florida. Yassin is the son of a fisherman and a homemaker from Haifa.
