Abi Joshi


Abi is a Business Tax Partner based in UAE and currently focusing on newly introduced UAE Corporate Income Tax regulations. He recently joined from Deloitte Qatar where he had spent three years focusing on business tax compliance, tax advisory and tax due diligence for global multinational corporations. Prior to that, Abi was based in Washington DC. 

Abi has 17 years of experience related to US income taxation, Multilateral Instruments, Permanent Establishment and Tax Treaty Analysis. Abi has worked extensively with both public and private multinational corporations, Private Equity Funds, High Net worth Family office, Telecommunication clients and Sovereign Wealth Funds.

Relevant Experience

  • Assisted and advised  large Multinational Companies on new regulations surrounding Base Erosion Profit Shifting (BEPS) and OECD guidance, country by country reporting and Master and local file preparation. 
  • Assisted Qatar based Telecommunication client on tax compliance, tax controversy and recent global tax structuring projects 
  • Assisted and advised Qatar based companies as well as foreign branches of multi-national entities with issues related to Qatar tax compliance and withholding tax issues. 
  • Lead key tax due diligence and tax restructuring projects for multinationals based in Qatar, USA and European nations. 
  • Conducted tax events on OECD initiated Pillar One and Pillar Two developments to address tax issues on the digitalization of economy.

  • Abi has a LLM Degree in International Law and Foreign Affairs from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar (May 2023)
  • Abi has Masters in Taxation Degree from American University, Washington DC, USA
  • Abi is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed from Virginia Board of Accountancy, USA
  • Abi is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
