Candidate’s Statement

My goals for AmCham Abu Dhabi Board Membership align with the Board Governance roles as outlined. As Vice-Chair, I will focus on the sustainability and expansion of US business interests with our Emirati partners by advocating for member organizations and their business objectives. I will work to advance and preserve current membership through development of inclusive strategies that showcase the capability and value of buying from American companies. Additionally, I will collaborate with prospective members to develop campaigns and relationships that promote entry vectors for new products, services, and technologies.

Candidate’s Bio

Charles (Chuck) Williamson has served as the regional and in- country Director for Navistar Defense since September of 2018. Additionally, he was appointed as the General Manager/Executive Director of Navistar Defense Middle East, a joint venture with Bin Hilal Enterprises, in November of 2020. In his dual roles he is responsible for overseeing all joint venture operations and business activities as well as short term and long-term regional strategies and growth for Navistar Defense.

Mr. Williamson joined Navistar Defense from L3 Communications, Link Simulation and Training, where he served as Director of Business Development for International Programs. He has held program management and business development leadership positions in aerospace and defense for more than 20 years with a focus on international business opportunities.

Mr. Williamson has extensive experience supporting warfighters and the defense industry with his knowledge of defense acquisition systems, supply chain and logistics, training and simulation and international business.

Mr. Williamson served in the United States Navy for 24 years as an Aviation Maintenance Officer and an Acquisition Professional. While in uniform he was assigned duties managing and supporting maintenance activities for the forward deployed Carrier Air Wing 5 in Atsugi Japan. His positions include Aircraft Maintenance/Material Control Officer for the Intermediate Maintenance Department at Naval Air Facility Atsugi and in USS Independence (CV-62) and USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) supporting F/A-18 Hornets for Fighter Attack Squadron 192. While assigned to Naval Air Systems Command, Training Systems Division, he served as a Program Manager reporting to the Program Executive Office for the F/A-18 aircraft. He was responsible for management and logistics for training systems supporting the F/A-18C aircraft as well as the F/A-18E/F fleet introduction.

Mr. Williamson earned a Master of Science in Business Management and a Master of Science in Program Management while serving in the US Navy.
